Buying, licenses, and new computers

Licenses and downloads are looked up differently depending on where you bought:

  • Bearwood website or Gumroad
  • Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT)
  • Bought under a different email than the one you’re using now

Knowing which one applies makes it much faster to find your download or license.

Same platform (Windows to Windows, or Mac to Mac): you usually don’t need to buy again. Use your original download or license link, or sign in to the web app.

Switching between Windows and Mac: don’t assume your license carries over automatically.

  1. Check your email for the original purchase confirmation.
  2. If you can’t find it, try any other email address you might have used to buy it.
  3. If you bought through TPT, go to My Purchases / My Downloads in your TPT account.
  4. If you bought through Gumroad, go to your Gumroad library or use the link from your original Gumroad receipt email.

If you’ve checked all of the above and still can’t find it, contact us with the email you used to purchase and we’ll help track it down.

If you bought through TPT, you generally won’t get a separate license email from Bearwood — the license is included inside the TPT download itself, usually as a file named license.txt. Check inside the downloaded folder before assuming it’s missing.

If it’s genuinely not there, contact us to confirm your purchase and we’ll send the key or file directly.

Gumroad library shows “buy again” or the product is missing

Section titled “Gumroad library shows “buy again” or the product is missing”
  1. Confirm you’re logged into Gumroad with the same email you used to purchase.
  2. Check your Gumroad library again once logged in with the right email.
  3. If it’s still missing, contact us with the purchase email so we can resend the link or correct your account.

If your Gumroad download link points to the wrong platform (Windows instead of Mac, or vice versa), contact us with your order details — we can switch the variant on our end so you can retry the link.

Gumroad handles checkout and payment processing directly, so we can’t see why a card was declined. Try the payment again, and if it keeps failing, try a different browser or card. If payment keeps failing after that, you’ll need to follow up with Gumroad directly, since they control processing.

Bundles: some bundles include commercial-use rights for anything you create with the included products. If you’ve seen older instructions mentioning non-commercial terms, check the license that came with your actual purchase — that’s what applies.

Crossword Creator: free and classroom use is allowed, with some feature limits. If you want to sell the crosswords you generate, you’ll need a commercial license.
